Transport Information
The ColomBus service in the Abondance valley will run from Monday 8th February to Sunday 7th March 2021. The timetable is adapted to the 6 pm curfew.
The regular 121 line is in service between Thonon-les-Bains and Châtel.
Due to the health crisis, barrier safety measures are ensured, especially mandatory face masks and social distancing between passengers.
Opening these services are dependent on government guidelines and can change at any moment.

Coming to Abondance
Abondance is located in the north of the Haute-Savoie (74) department, 30km south of Lake Geneva, Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains, and 1h30 from Geneva airport. The town is an integral part of the Pays d’Evian-Vallée d’Abondance and the Portes du Soleil ski domain in France.

Getting to the Abondance Valley:
▪ from France – head to Thonon-les-Bains, then take the Route de Bioge to the Vallée d’Abondance.
▪ from Switzerland – head to Monthey, then to Morgins. The border is located at the Morgins pass just before reaching Châtel.A few distances:

IMPORTANT
You will need winter tyres or chains for your vehicle from 1st November to the end of April. Even if there is no snow on the roads, they are often icy and dangerously slippery. Located in the Portes du Soleil domain our village is only 20 minutes from the Swiss border. Remember to take your ID card. If you are driving on Swiss motorways you will need the Swiss motorway sticker on your windscreen, it is compulsory and valid for the year. It is on sale in Swiss petrol stations or at the customs office at the border.

Getting around in the valley
A shuttle bus links Abondance and Châtel and other villages in the Abondance valley.

Colombus Shuttle Bus Link: Châtel - Abondance
The ColomBus shuttle bus runs both winter and summer in the Abondance valley.
This is an additional service to the departmental bus line and serves all the villages in the valley: Chevenoz, Vacheresse, Bonnevaux, Abondance, La Chapelle d’Abondance and Châtel.

There is a free shuttle bus for children’s groups.

The Trans’Abondance Ski
This is a free shuttle bus for children’s groups staying in the Abondance commune.
It runs from the Christmas holidays until the end of March, upon request.
The destinations served from the accommodation are the following:

♦ The Ludoffaz ice rink
♦ La Maison du Fromage Abondance

PARKING
All parking is free in Abondance.Village Centre
There is a car park in the village centre. Several parking areas near the centre and shops are available in the direction of Châtel or Thonon-les-Bains.Offaz Plain
A Large car park is also accessible to cars and camping cars at the entrance to the village in the direction of Thonon-les-Bains.Essert Ski Area
There is a free car park at the foot of the Essert cable car. The “Abondance Demain” volunteers will help you park.Lake Plagnes
